Dr Penni Russell
MBBS(Hons) BMRSc(NM) FRACP
Penni is a Queensland-trained general cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, originally from Tamworth in regional NSW.
She began her career in healthcare as a nuclear medicine scientist, subsequently pursuing a career in medicine after making the move to Queensland.
Penni completed her medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with First Class Honours. Her cardiologist specialist training has included a Fellowship in Advanced Echocardiography at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where she now holds a staff specialist appointment.
With primary clinical interests in stress echocardiography, sports cardiology and the diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies, Penni is committed to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. She also has regular transoesophageal echocardiography lists at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, utilising advanced imaging skills and techniques in the assessment of valvular heart disease.
Away from work, Penni enjoys keeping active and being outdoors, and continues to try her luck with new projects in the garden and in the kitchen.
