A/Prof David Holland

David is a cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist with particular interests in chest pain and heart function assessments, managing heart failure, exercise, sports and preventative cardiology.

He undertook medical training in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Queensland to complete Physician and Cardiology Training. He completed a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at MonashHeart, Melbourne prior to returning as a staff specialist at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

With a background in exercise physiology, David obtained his PhD in heart failure, exercise and cardiac imaging. He is widely published, having contributed to national guidelines, and serves as a Section Editor for Heart, Lung and Circulation. He is passionate about education, continues to supervise research students, and maintains university appointments at The University of Queensland and Griffith University.

Outside of work, David can be found adoring his three children, admiring classic muscle cars, and really wishing he had time to be a better guitarist.
