2023 Annual GP Conference – Noosa

It’s been a big month here for us as we delivered another successful fully booked out, Annual GP Conference in Noosa. It was an educational Day with great expert speakers and an evening to remember as we enjoyed a meal together.

We thank all GPs that attended and hope you enjoyed the informative presentations, interactive talks, fabulous food and accommodation at Sofitel Resort Noosa, as well as the beautiful surrounds of Noosa.

Noosa delivered on the perfect winter’s day as we welcomed our GP guests to the Sofitel ballroom for a welcome video of Heart HQ’s journey to date and an Acknowledgement to Country. We heard from Dr Stuart Butterly, who spoke about exercise and sports cardiology, Ashlee Adcock, Elliott Petracci presented on Electrocardiology and echocardiogram changes in athletes and Prof Tony Stanton on pulmonary Hypertension before morning tea.

We then returned to hear from Dr KK Lim on remote monitoring technology, we then heard from our panel on Atrial Fibrillation with Dr Peter Larsen facilitating a conversation about Ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation with Dr Nam, Dr Tung and Dr Naresh Dayananda. Dr Peter Larsen shared an important presentation on knowing how to support Cardiac patients.

After lunch we got an update from Justin Greenwell on Ramsay Health, heard from our guest speaker Dr Karl, then Dr Matthew Tung shared on Atrial Fibrillation management and Ryan Turnbull discussed the role of calcium scoring in the prevention of ischemic heart disease.

To conclude the day once afternoon tea was complete, we moved into breakout rooms with Dr Mark Johnson, Dr Naresh Dayananda and Dr Michael Nam sharing more presentations, quizzes and discussions on some great cardiac topics including 4 pillars of Heart Failure, Cardiac Pacing, and all about ECG’s.

The evening concluded with a wonderful meal and drinks at the Sails Restaurant where all the GP’s had a chance to interact with our Cardiologist and one another.

We really hope those that attended had a great and informative day, and we welcome you all to attend our next event. Watch this space!
