Heart HQ is helping Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital (SCUPH) expand its structural heart program so locals don’t have to travel to capital cities to access the latest technology.
Our team has achieved 200 transcatheter aortic valve (TAVI) procedures since commencing the service in June 2019, helping patients with aortic stenosis. The valve is inserted like a stent, through the leg artery up to the heart.
We are also utilising MitraClip technology, making a huge difference for patients with severe mitral valve regurgitation (leaking mitral valves) that were previously unable to be treated by conventional surgery.
Learn more in this two minute video where a couple of Heart HQ cardiologists discuss the procedures.
