At Heart HQ, we have the pleasure of supporting University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) biomedical science students for the past five years. As part of their degree, we host students for a 10-week work placement to allow them to experience and learn skills in cardiac science. The students work alongside our experienced cardiac scientists in clinic to learn: ECG technical and interpretive skills; holter, event and BP monitoring; exercise stress testing; and basic knowledge on pacemakers and remote home monitoring. They also get the chance to observe and learn about echocardiography and angiography.
